Saab to Provide Upgraded Training Capability to the Bulgarian Armed Forces
Saab Defense and Security USA, LLC (SDAS) has signed a contract with the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) to produce and field an upgrade and expansion to its previously fielded live training equipment for the Bulgarian Armed Forces (BAF).
Saab Defense and Security USA’s Training and Simulation unit is responsible for delivery of the new and upgraded equipment. The Deployable Instrumented Training System (DITS) hardware will be integrated into the Bulgarian Armed Forces existing training systems.
"We are honored to have been selected by the U.S. Army Foreign Military Sales office and the Bulgarian Armed Forces for a delivery of this nature," said Cyndi Turner, Vice President and General Manager for the Training and Simulation business unit at SDAS. "This contract is important in that it increases the training capability of our NATO allies and helps garner strength and stability in Eastern Europe.”
