Saab signs contract with Portuguese Army for Live Training Systems
Enables the Portuguese Army to conduct a wide range of training exercises, from small-unit tactics at the different units, to potential for future larger-scale multi-national maneuvers.
Saab has received a first order from the Portuguese Army for live training systems. This contract entails a mix of supply and services comprising the acquisition of a Real Tactical Engagement Simulator for the Portuguese Army Tactical Training, Simulation and Certification Center located at Campo Militar de Santa Margarida, Constância.
This is the first order from the Portuguese Army for Saabs world-leading live training systems and marks an important step in the development of the nation’s training capabilities. The agreement includes Saab’s GAMER live training equipment including among others Personal Detection Devices (PDDs), weapon kits, ballistic anti-tank simulators and vehicle kits in addition to Observer/Controller tools and EXCON (Exercise Control) systems.
The systems delivered under this contract will enable the Portuguese Army to conduct a wide range of training exercises, from small-unit tactics at the different units, to potential for future larger-scale multi-national maneuvers. By leveraging Saab’s advanced technology, the Portuguese Army will be able to optimise training effectiveness and ensure its personnel is fully prepared to meet any mission.
