Job Description:
Saab, Inc in Syracuse, NY is currently seeking an individual who is driven to learn and highly motivated, for the role of Accounting Specialist – AP, serving as an integral part of the Shared Services Accounting team. This is a regular, full-time position.
The ideal candidate will have basic accounting skills, accounts payable experience, accuracy, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for reviewing and processing invoices for multiple Company divisions. This will require the ability to utilize Oracle eBusiness applications, IFS, Microsoft Office products (especially Excel), perform basic calculations, and interact with various internal personnel and external suppliers.
Skills and Experience:
Required Education and Experience:
Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred
2+ years experience in an accounting discipline or business environment, government contracting experience preferred
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Oracle eBusiness Suite experience helpful, but not required
Attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment
Solid written and oral communication skills and analytical problem solving
Sound and consistent business judgment, a good grasp of Company priorities and a sense of urgency
High level of enthusiasm, a positive attitude, the ability to remain flexible to meet internal and external needs
Citizenship Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
