Asset Manager

The position is responsible for undertaking logistics engineering and obsolescence analysis activities in support of acquisition projects and life cycle refresh sustainment tasks.

Specific Accountabilities

  • As required, act as a delegate for the Head of Support.

  • Manage obsolescence responsibilities, inclusive of developing awareness notifications and communications to customers.

  • Liaise with the OEMs to identify, analyse and recommend corrective actions for equipment obsolescence problems, including development of costed corrective actions plans.

  • Develop, maintain, and update Asset Management Plans, Annual Works Plans, Supporting Documents and Registers, and Lifecycle Models for existing and future contracts.

  • Provide timely data for internal and external reports, including but not limited to Monthly Reports, Condition Assessments, and Annual Reports.

  • Management responsibility for lifecycle forecasts, planning, delivery, and reporting on status both internally and externally. 

  • Manage the development of asset lifecycle and technical refresh system specifications, design and implementation plans.

  • Manage the execution of implementation plans.

  • Provide asset management input into contract/subcontract scoping and negotiations, project planning, system design and implementation and out-sourced developmental engineering efforts.

  • Management responsibility of lifecycle budgets, cost analysis, and reporting.

  • Analyse data from live sites and develop reporting tools to capture historical data useful for future planning, proposals, and tender responses. 

  • Undertake direct asset management effort for acquisition and lifecycle refresh sustainment projects, in the areas of:

    • Reliability, maintainability and availability modelling and analysis;

    • Failure, mode effect and criticality analysis;

    • Level of repair analysis;

    • Maintenance task analysis;

    • Spares analysis;

    • Asset condition assessment and training; and

    • Obsolescence management and analysis.
       

  • Provide input to the cost estimate of Asset Management effort, and manage the allocated budget and schedule for lifecycle and technical refresh projects.

  • Review supplier and OEM generated ILS and Equipment Asset documentation as required.

  • Manage the development and delivery of all technical publications deliverables.

  • Participate in improvement initiatives

  • Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, Health & safety, Bullying, Harassment, Violence and Aggression, and duty of care and the quality management system.

Skills and Experience

  • Sound problem solving skills.

  • Well-developed decision making skills.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with ILS analysis activities and software tools.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with contemporary Security system technologies.

  • Experience in Security industry and its practices and standards.

  • Experience in LSA and R&M analysis tools.

  • Sound understanding of the system development and the inter-relation between the various ILS elements.

  • An understanding of the application of System Engineering and its relationship to ILS.

  • Comprehensive understanding of configuration management.

  • An understanding of the application of safety engineering and its relationship to ILS

  • Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and implementation.

  • Experience and knowledge of ISO 55001 standards and implementation.

Educational Qualifications and Professional Memberships

  • Tertiary qualifications in Logistics Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering. Or suitable and demonstrated experience.
