Your role

Are you ready to lead high-stakes, strategic bids in a collaborative and high-performing environment? Saab is looking for a Bid & Capture Manager to drive complex proposals within our Digital Battlespace Solutions portfolio. This role is a key part of our M&S and Business Development department, owning the bid lifecycle from initial strategy to contract award and working closely with our Sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead bids end-to-end: Take ownership of the entire bid process, ensuring compliance with client requirements, internal governance, and quality standards.
  • Inspire and manage your team: Lead and motivate multidisciplinary bid teams, including technical, commercial, legal, finance, and operational experts, to deliver high-quality and timely proposals.
  • Shape winning strategies: Develop differentiated Win Strategies and compelling Value Propositions that align with customer needs, budget, and strategic goals.
  • Deliver professional proposals: Oversee the creation of coherent, persuasive, and compliant proposals, proactively identifying and mitigating commercial, technical, and delivery risks.
  • Engage stakeholders effectively: Serve as the central point of communication for the bid, keeping senior management and internal teams informed, and supporting customer meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
  • Drive continuous improvement: Lead responses to customer clarifications, support final contract negotiations, and capture lessons learned to enhance Saab’s bid management processes for future success.

The position is based in Solna, with occasional travel required both nationally and internationally.


Your profile

We are looking for a motivated and collaborative professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, and at least three years of experience in bid management, sales, project management, or procurement. Experience with defence procurement processes, terminology, and commercial frameworks is a strong advantage.

To be successful in this role, you thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy taking ownership, and can coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. You are structured, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Key skills and attributes include:

  • Proven experience in managing bids or complex projects, ideally within defence or technology sectors.
  • Strong project management abilities, with the capacity to handle several bids simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional leadership and collaboration skills, with a talent for motivating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including executive-level audiences.
  • Solid commercial understanding, including pricing strategies, contract structures, and commercial models relevant to defence projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presenting complex information clearly and convincingly.
