The opportunity
Saab Australia is an industry participant in the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement (CSI-IPT CCA). The CSI-IPT CCA forms a collaborative enterprise organisation to execute scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA4000 Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA5000 Phase 1). This will see independently executed programs such as SEA4000 Phase 6 and SEA5000 Phase 1 brought under one umbrella enterprise organisation, the CSI-IPT.
The CSI-IPT is built up with personnel from three industry participants and the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) to form a collaborative team working across multiple programs to leverage synergies between platforms.
The role
As part of our Engineering and Sustainment Services group, the Bid Coordinator will support the CSI-IPT delivering the combat systems solutions to the Royal Australian Navy surface combatant fleet.
Further, the successful candidate will:
Assist in the coordination of workshops including the development of agendas, minutes and assisting with development of presentation materials.
Coordinate bid artefact development and update ensuring version control and information sharing principles are upheld.
Coordinate governance and bid submission processes.
Manage the issues and action register to ensure closure of items in a timely manner.
Support to the development of project management artefacts for proposals.
Participate in risk and opportunity assessments.
Provide general project management assistance and advice to the CS control account managers and other discipline line managers.
Support monthly project reports including summarised progress, schedule, Earned Value Management and Risk & Opportunity data.
Support the monthly drumbeat cycle of project schedule progress, Risk & Opportunities reviews and EAC updates.
Exhibit leadership, communication and negotiation skills and can engage with and influence individuals across the CSI-IPT.
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and a 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
- Diploma/Certificate in Project Management (desirable).
- 2 – 5 years of administrative experience in a project environment (essential) in Defence industry (preferable).
- Awareness of earned value management principles (desirable).
- Strong planning, analysis and communication skills.
- Excellent administrative skills, coupled with a general understanding of the project life cycle, project documentation, project standards and methodologies.
Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
