Your role
As Bid Manager at Saab, BU AEW&C, you will lead and coordinate complex bid and proposal work for our products and solutions. You will ensure that our offers are compliant, competitive and feasible – balancing customer requirements, Saab’s principles and applicable regulations to secure sustainable and profitable business.
In this role, you will take ownership of the bid process from opportunity to submission, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to develop high-quality customer offers. You will analyse customer requirements, identify gaps and deviations, manage risks and opportunities, and drive alignment across teams to ensure proposals are delivered on time and to the highest standards of quality, consistency and compliance.
As a key contributor to our business growth, you will also support in customer negotiations, coordinate internal reviews and approvals, and ensure that all offers meet applicable regulatory, export control and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyse RFPs, RFIs and other customer requests to fully understand scope and requirements.
Lead and coordinate all bid and proposal activities throughout the offer development process.
Ensure complete and compliant proposals are delivered within agreed timelines and drive corrective actions when required.
Conduct risk and opportunity assessments and ensure appropriate mitigation and realisation plans are implemented.
Harmonise sub-product offers into one coherent and consolidated customer offer.
Prepare and coordinate Silver Team Reviews and other internal approval processes.
Ensure all proposal content has undergone Export Control and Defence Secrecy reviews.
Participate in customer negotiations as part of the negotiation team.
Your profile
You are a structured and driven bid professional with strong stakeholder management skills and a clear business mindset. You work in a methodical and organised way, with strong capabilities in planning, coordination and follow-up.
You thrive in complex environments where attention to detail, collaboration and clear communication are essential for success. With a high level of integrity, you are able to balance competing priorities while maintaining quality and compliance throughout the bid process.
You bring
Experience from programme management, bid management, negotiations with customers, proposal management or similar roles, preferably within defence, aerospace or other regulated industries.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through time-critical bid and proposal phases.
Strong skills in analysing RFP/RFI documentation and translating requirements into a clear, compliant and compelling offer.
Understanding of Export Control, Defence Secrecy or other similar regulatory frameworks.
Solid understanding of financial, commercial and risk aspects in bids and contracts.
Experience working with formal review and approval processes (e.g. gate reviews, Silver Team or similar).
Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
