Your role

As Center of Excellence Lead – Tactical Data Links (TDL), you will establish and lead our new Center of Excellence, develop expertise in TDL, coordinate activities across the organisation and promote knowledge sharing. Through this work, you will drive innovations that safeguard nations and enable true multi-domain operations.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead the Groups capability development for Tactical Data Links, including Link 16, Link 22 and other relevant protocols (current and future Tactical Data Links).
  • Own the Group-wide TDL capability roadmap, ensuring alignment with platform, mission application, and program needs across all Business Units.
  • Define and uphold TDL standards, integration patterns, and interoperability guidelines for Group-wide use, ensuring Saab's technological foresight and securing our competitive edge in the future battlespace's Tactical Data Links.
  • Deliver reusable TDL modes and reference architectures, leveraging collective expertise and design insights to drive adoption and shape the future of the Group's TDL architecture.
  • Provide expert guidance and hands-on integration support to programs and engineering teams across all Business Units.
  • Ensure all TDL implementations meet NATO and national interoperability and security requirements.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and training for TDL integration across the Group.
  • Track adoption, compliance to standards, and maturity or TDL capabilities across the Group portfolio.
  • Represent the group in relevant industry and collation working groups.

Your profile

  • Deep expertise in existing and future TDL protocols, formats, and integration challenges.
  • Experience delivering interoperable TDL solutions in in multi-domain or coalition C2 environments.
  • Familiarity with NATO STANAGs, FMN spirals and evolving coalition interoperability requirements.
  • Proven ability to set standards and drive adoption across multiple BUs or large organizations.
  • Ability to translate coalition and customer interoperability requirements into practical, reusable solutions.
