Your role
We are seeking a strategic and technically grounded Chief Engineer to own and drive the roadmap for the Software Factory, Inner source and Platforms within Enablement Tech & Platforms, part of Group Digitalization. This role is central to enhancing developer productivity across the company by creating a unified and scalable software development environment. You will be responsible for translating strategy into execution, working closely with engineering teams and business units to ensure the Software Factory delivers value at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and maintain the strategic roadmap for the Software Factory, aligning with business and technical goals.
- Translate high-level strategy into actionable plans and coordinate execution across development teams.
- Collaborate directly with business units to understand developer needs and ensure platform relevance and usability.
- Drive architectural decisions and ensure alignment with cloud-first principles and defense industry requirements.
- Champion agile-at-scale practices and foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Ensure the Software Factory supports integrated, secure, and efficient development workflows.
- Continuously evaluate and improve platform capabilities to enhance developer experience and productivity.

You’ll be part of the management team of Enablement Tech and Platforms in a collaborative and innovative environment within a cross-functional tech organization within Saab. Your profile
Required:
- Strong architectural experience in cloud-native development environments with a software first mindset.
- Proven expertise in product management, including roadmap ownership and stakeholder alignment.
- Experience working directly with engineering teams and business units to deliver platform solutions.
- Grounded in an agile mindset and experience of scale agile.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to communicate fluently in both Swedish and English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Experience in cloud and edge platforms and enablement teams within large-scale tech organizations.
- Background in secure development lifecycles and compliance in defense or regulated industries.
- Knowledge of developer experience tooling and productivity metrics.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and infrastructure as code.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
