Executive leadership role – shaping security across the product lifecycle and supply chain.
Your role
We are looking for a visionary Chief Product Security Officer (CPSO) to lead our product security strategy at executive level. This role is critical in shaping and embedding security across the entire product lifecycle and supply chain, ensuring resilience, compliance and trust in our offerings.
Our products defend nations, protect critical infrastructure and operate where failure is not an option. As Chief Product Security Officer, you make sure security is not bolted on at the end – it is designed in from the beginning. This is a rare opportunity to shape product security strategy at the highest level, in a company where what you build genuinely matters.
Reporting to the Vice President of Enablement Tech & Platforms, you will have the opportunity to establish and lead a product security capability, with a small team of highly skilled technical specialists, shaping the capabilities needed to support Saab's long-term product security objectives across a diverse portfolio of products, technologies and Business Areas.

What you’ll own:
- Set the direction. Define and drive our product security strategy, embedding “security by design” and “secure by default” across everything we build
- Build it in. Establish a Secure Development Lifecycle that makes security analysis, secure architecture and vulnerability management second nature to our engineers, aligned with customer requirements, applicable threat assessments and operational needs
- Stay ahead. Keep pace with product security regulation and assurance requirements, including frameworks such as KSF, ISK, relevant NATO requirements and other applicable standards, and turn compliance and security assurance into a competitive edge
- Lead the culture. Foster a strong security culture by driving awareness and education across the organisation, and be the trusted voice that customers, authorities and partners turn to
- Navigate a global landscape. Operate in an international environment with a broad range of stakeholders across Saab, as well as customers, authorities, regulatory bodies and industry partners. Build trusted relationships and drive alignment to strengthen product security across the enterprise
Travel will be part of the role.
Your profile
You’re a security leader who has done “the hard” technical work and knows how to lead people, not just controls. You can sit with engineers in the morning and brief executives in the afternoon – and be credible in both rooms.
What you bring:
- You bring substantial experience (typically 10+ years) in product security, cybersecurity or secure systems development, including a strong understanding of the secure product lifecycle (PLC), with time spent in a leadership role
- You hold a Master of Science in Engineering (MSc) in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline; a research background is meriting
- You have knowledge of the regulatory frameworks and industry standards relevant to product security (e.g. NIST, KSF and the CRA)
- You have deep expertise in threat modelling, cryptography, secure architectures and vulnerability management in complex, embedded or security-critical systems
- You’re strategic and pragmatic, with the ability to define enterprise-level security strategies in collaboration with Business Areas across Saab
- You’re a natural communicator and a builder of trust, with demonstrated leadership in cross-functional collaboration and executive-level communication
- Meriting: certifications such as CSSLP or GICSP
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
