Job Description:
Build your resume and enhance your marketability with real-world, hands-on experience. Saab, Inc. is seeking one motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Engineering student interested in applying their academic knowledge to real-world product development through a paid Co-op or Internship opportunity for Spring and Summer (January through August) 2026. This position will average 20 hours per week.
Electrical Engineering Co-Ops will:
Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to design and develop prototype equipment for Saab Training and Simulation.
Support the development of engineering tools and prototype components.
Participate in internal technical meetings and design reviews.
Coordinate with the engineering lead and program managers on task planning and scheduling of activities.
Be enrolled in an Electrical Engineering major.
Ideally bring familiarity of ECAD tools such as KiCad or Altium.
Compensation Range: $20 - $22/hour
In addition to a competitive hourly rate, Saab Inc. provides a sign-on bonus to help offset housing expenses for Co-Ops who live outside the typical office commuting distance.
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Required Qualifications:
Enrollment in an accredited degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Completion of Sophomore year or above.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Experience with embedded systems development.
Familiarity with soldering SMD components.
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with ECAD tools such as KiCad or Altium.
Prior co-op or internship experience.
Citizenship Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
