Commercial Manager

As part of the Commercial Group, the Warship Asset Management Agreement (WAMA) Commercial Manager will have a responsibility to provide a pro-active and timely commercial service to both internal and external customers. The incumbent is expected to be an active member of the Saab Commercial Team and contribute to the achievement of the role of the Commercial Group.
Specific Accountabilities
. Contract Management
- Initial point of contact of all WAMA commercial issues;
- Contract reporting, contract closure management;
- Facilitation of relationships between external customers, partners and the Saab organisation, particularly in relation to contractual matters;
- Prepare contract specific commercial and financial plans as required;
- Manage and report on intellectual property developed under the Agreement.
. Advice
- Support the WAMA project teams in dealing with the AMO, liaison with other Participants and closing out project issues;
- Represent Saab at a range of committees and working groups.
. Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, Health & safety, Bullying, Harassment, Violence and Aggression, and duty of care and the quality management system.
. Treat everyone with respect, communicate regularly and openly with manager and team, and ensure all decisions are made with fairness in mind.
. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
• A minimum of 7 years in a contract management role, establishing, managing and closing out contracts.

. Proven written and verbal communication skills.
. Proven commercial acumen with the ability to recognise issues and identify key risk areas.
. Proven ability to manage internal and external stakeholders and build effective relationships.
. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant contract law and broad experience negotiating
legal terms and conditions with customers, in conjunction with the legal counsel.
. Demonstrated experience in project financial management principles, including earned value management,
project accounting, cost estimation processes, profit and risk sharing mechanisms.
. Literacy and numeracy skills.
. Organisational skills with ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
. Exposure to the ASDEFCON contract suite.
. Working knowledge of Australian and US Government Export control processes.
. Demonstrated experience and a working understanding of collaborative contracting frameworks (desirable).
. Experience in the development of project specific intellectual property plans and associated schedules.
. Experience in the development of contract phase out plans.
Educational Qualifications and Professional Memberships
. Tertiary Qualifications in relevant discipline (Law, Business or Commerce).
