CONTRACTS ADMINISTRATOR – SUPPLY CHAIN

The role

As part of our Finance & Admin group, the Contracts Administrator will assist the Supply Chain team leads through successful management of administrative tasks and related processes in a timely manner.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Undertake contract administration activities.
  • Assist in the drafting, formatting and development of non-disclosure agreements, subcontracts and supplier agreements.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders on the review, approval and record keeping of agreements and contracts.
  • Provide input to projects and corporate functions regarding policies, procedures, tools and templates
  • Work effectively with other members of the Saab Supply Chain Team and other stakeholders.
  • Establish and/or tailor processes, methods and tools that ensure compliance with specific contract administration activities
  • Assist Subcontracts Managers with negotiations related to subcontractors and suppliers, to address contractual issues, licensing arrangements and confidentiality agreements
  • Provide contractual advice to project and tender teams ensuring that supply chain related issues are dealt with in an effective and efficient manner  

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day will be considered for this role post probation and subject to approval by your manager.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • 3+ Years’ experience in a similar role supporting the delivery of projects (ideally in the construction and/or defence industry)
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant contract law
  • Good understanding of procurement and subcontract management requirements for large multi-discipline projects and bids
  • A detailed working knowledge of claims processes (Variations, EOT requests and other) in project environments 
  • Experience in managing or administrating ASDEFCON related contracts, with exposure to Security and Export Control requirements (desirable)
  • Contracts administration and Document Management
  • A working knowledge of Security of Payments legislation
  • High level of interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively and manage relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Robust negotiation with respect to variations and other claims
  • Exemplary organisational skills with ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly expert user of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, supply chain, business or a related field (or studying towards)


As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants applying should be Australian Citizens and will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline/NV1/NV2 level or have the ability to gain one. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
