The role
As the Corporate Tax & Finance Business Partner, you will act as the trusted advisor for all tax-related matters while providing strategic financial support to business leaders. You will also lead and develop the Accounts Payable team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
This role offers broad exposure across tax, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and stakeholder engagement in a complex and dynamic environment.
Further, the successful candidate will:
Tax Compliance & Governance
- Prepare and review corporate income tax calculations and tax returns.
- Manage indirect tax obligations including GST, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), and Payroll Tax.
- Prepare tax effect accounting and deferred tax calculations in accordance with accounting standards.
- Maintain transfer pricing documentation and support intercompany transactions and allocations.
- Coordinate annual tax compliance activities with external advisors and auditors.
- Monitor tax legislation changes and assesses impacts on the business.
- Maintain tax risk registers and ensure compliance with governance requirements.
- Act as the key liaison between the business and Group Tax, ensuring tax considerations are incorporated into project delivery and strategic decisions.
- Represent the business within global tax forums and contribute to tax policy and process improvements.
Finance Business Partnering
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly, annual, and ad-hoc financial reporting.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, financial models, and scenario analyses.
- Lead the annual budgeting process for assigned portfolios.
- Partner with business leaders to support workforce planning and labour cost forecasting.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve business performance and achieve budget targets.
- Support strategic decision-making through data-driven analysis and commercial advice.
Leadership
- Lead and develop the Accounts Payable team.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
- Coach and mentor team members through regular feedback and development planning.
- Build trusted relationships across the organisation and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9-day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role after discussion with the manager.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline.
- CA or CPA qualified.
- 4+ years' experience in a Finance Business Partnering role.
- Significant experience in corporate taxation within a large organisation or professional services environment.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Corporate Income Tax
- GST
- Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT)
- Payroll Tax
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to translate financial insights into business decisions.
- Experience leading or mentoring finance teams.
