Deputy CPO & Head of Procurement Excellence

We are looking for a Deputy CPO and Head of Procurement Excellence with a proven track record of driving transformational change and deep expertise in procurement and supply chain management.

Saab Procurement is in an exciting transformational phase. We operate in a matrix organisation where Group Procurement holds the functional responsibility for global purchasing and the business responsibility for indirect material.

Your Role

As Deputy CPO and Head of Procurement Excellence, you will lead the development of effective, scalable processes and tools for Saab Procurement globally. You will drive Procurement Excellence across all development activities, ensuring best-in-class, efficient and compliant ways of working.

Success in this role requires close collaboration with the purchasing organisations within the Business Areas. You will lead a team of professionals working within purchasing development, compliance, analytics, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Procurement Excellence and act as owner of processes, methods and tools within Saab Procurement.
  • Ensure compliance in processes, security requirements, and sustainability across Saab Group.
  • Lead and develop Sourcing Analytics capability within Saab Purchasing.
  • Co-responsible for Global Procurement Council meetings together with the CPO.
  • Ensure efficient administration of the Sourcing Board within Group Procurement and Saab Purchasing.
  • Prepare budget material and manage performance follow-up.
  • Oversee performance management, including reporting, KPIs, SRM & contract management, project tracking, and compliance with Sourcing Board requirements.
  • Ensure the direct material organisation develops and executes category and supplier strategies in line with governance.
  • Drive purchasing competence development, including CSR, communication, and employee engagement activities.
  • Responsible for common training within the procurement function.
  • Act as Deputy CPO.

Your Profile

You are highly self-motivated, structured and communicate with clarity and confidence. You have a proven track record as a senior leader in procurement and/or supply chain and demonstrate strong integrity.

You are recognised for your ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and provide strategic advice to key decision-makers. You are an experienced leader who works independently, sets ambitious goals, and translates them into medium- and long-term strategic plans. You thrive in both individual and team environments and have a strong interest in developing ways of working through digitalisation.

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum ten years of experience in procurement, working with direct material and supply chain
  • Strong business acumen
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated success in leading change management initiatives
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in global procurement
  • High levels of drive, initiative, and ambition

Desired Skills

  • Experience leading in a matrix organisation
  • Background in the defence and/or aviation industry

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
