Design Authority: Product Support
Technical responsibility for the design baselines of Electronic Warfare and Avionics products during their In-Service Support lifecycle phase. Technical support to both local and foreign customers for the assigned products. Provide internal support to the production shopfloor, as well as the maintenance and repair organization in resolving technical issues.
Your role
- Acquire a deep understanding of the operation and functionality of assigned products.
- Manage product baselines during the In-Service support phase.
- Manage component obsolescence and associated activities.
- Lead product failure analysis and design activities aimed at improving product reliability.
- Support and resolve customer technical queries.
- Support the production and maintenance shopfloor with technical guidance.
- Work closely with test engineering to ensure the adequacy of test equipment.
- Work closely with production engineering in improving product-specific manufacturing processes and related documentation.
- Support projects and bid opportunities with technical inputs.
- Support field service activities.
Your profile
- In-depth knowledge of analogue and digital electronic design.
- A thorough understanding of the design, test, production and maintenance processes of equipment within the defence / avionic industry.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in electronic design, preferably within the defence / avionic industry.
- Experience in design verification, including Environmental, EMI/EMC and Functional qualification of electronic hardware.
- Experience in defining, implementing and verifying design modifications within a highly regulated environment.
- Experienced at working in technical teams and supporting production and maintenance technicians in fault-finding units under repair.
Competencies:
- Thorough understanding of electronic design principles and practices.
- Fluent in the use of standard and/or specialized test equipment to determine circuit performance.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret design specifications, design baselines and test results as guiding information in determining circuit performance and/or isolating failures.
Qualification:
- Nat. Diploma in Electronics, or higher.
