DevOps Engineer - Combat Systems

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to strengthen our 9LV Combat Management System (CMS) DevOps team in Tampere.
 

Your role

As a DevOps Engineer you would be responsible for maintaining and developing 9LV Combat Management System development environments in Saab Tampere. You would ensure with your contribution that 9LV CMS software development and testing is possible and that the development environments are up to date with requirements and regulations.
9LV department at Saab Tampere is part of bigger international Naval Combat Systems organization, so you would have international colleagues on other Saab sites. This role does not contain any recurring travelling despite the global organization.

In practice you would be maintaining and developing servers, services, CI/CD pipelines and other automated workflows. You would also ensure that users would get well prepared VDI Linux clients. Work takes mostly place in air-gapped environments, which naturally sets some limitations for the velocity of your work.
 

Your profile

We wish that you would have technical education and few years’ work experience from DevOps work. You need to have good Finnish and English skills.

To be successful in your work, you would have proven professional hands-on experience from following technologies as a maintainer or developer:

  • Ubuntu Linux: installing, configuring and scripting

  • Docker: producing images, using and troubleshooting containers

  • Jenkins and pipelines: development and maintenance of pipelines

  • Ansible: development and maintenance of Ansible playbooks and roles

You understand how Ethernet and IP networks work and how to form secure connections.

Having admin or superuser experience from VMware vCenter and Kubernetes would be a strong asset. Infrastructure as a code is normal way of working for you, and if something needs to be done more than twice, automation is the natural choice for you. Ideally you would have some experience of hardening services, containers and Linux operating systems.

The salary range for this position is €4 500 – €5 500 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.

The expected start date is between August and September 2026, depending on availability.
