The role
As part of our Defence Delivery group, the DevSecOps Engineer will contribute to the development of the Saab 9LV Combat Management System, a naval command and control system that integrates sensors, weapons, and data to provide situational awareness and decision support for maritime operations. As a member of the DevSecOps Team in System Delivery Group (SDG), the DevSecOps Engineer will contribute to the upkeep and enhancement of the SDG development environments. This role is responsible for translating needs of SDG users and producing efficient and secure solutions to meet those needs, whilst complying to broader corporate function and policy constraints.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Be active in the completion of planned SDG DevSecOps enhancements.
- Be active in monitoring, identification and resolution of SDG systems and development environment issues as they arise.
- Maintain assigned Jira tasks by keeping ticket status, details, effort log and time estimates accurate and regularly updated. Log defects with sufficient detail for effective resolution.
- Will actively triage and complete SDG DevSecOps ServiceHub tickets.
Flexible work arrangements such 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
Essential
- Familiarity with the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Information Security Manual (ISM)
- Scripting skills using languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Broad understanding of technology and technology trends.
- Demonstrated understanding of:
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery concepts.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
- containerised applications.
Desirable
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- Agile principles, practices and processes.
- Analysing and implementing ASD ISM controls.
- Implementing CI/CD solutions.
- Developing solutions as Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Building and deploying containerised applications.
- Application and infrastructure monitoring and incident response.
- Configuration rollout and management of the Atlassian Datacenter suite, including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Fisheye and Crucible.
- Configuration tools such as Ansible.
- Monitoring and analytic tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack.
- Linux, open-source applications and tools management.
As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance preferably to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
