Working as part of a collaborative Strategic Communications and Marketing team, you'll play a key role in bringing our culture, people and achievements to life.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Strategic Communications and Marketing, you will help develop and deliver internal and digital communications that engage employees, support business objectives and enhance Saab Australia's employer brand.

You will create compelling content, manage key communication channels and work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure employees are informed, connected and aligned with our purpose and strategy.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Develop and deliver employee communication campaigns and engagement initiatives.
  • Create high-quality content including articles, videos, newsletters, presentations, social media posts and digital storytelling assets.
  • Manage and optimise internal communication channels, including the intranet, employee newsletters and digital screens.
  • Support the planning and delivery of organisational announcements, leadership communications and change communication activities.
  • Maintain and enhance Saab Australia's external digital presence, including website and social media channels.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and business leaders to identify and tell compelling stories.
  • Monitor communication performance and provide insights to improve engagement and effectiveness.
  • Ensure communications are aligned with Saab's brand, values and strategic priorities.
  • to continuously refine internal communication strategies and identifying areas for enhancement.  

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home will be considered for this role.

About you

You are a strong communicator with a passion for creating content that resonates with diverse audiences. You combine creativity with sound judgement and can confidently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You'll bring

  • Demonstrated experience in corporate communications, employee communications, digital communications or a related field.
  • Excellent written, editing and storytelling skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences
  • Experience managing digital communication channels, websites and content management systems.
  • Strong understanding of social media, digital content and audience engagement principles.
  • Graphic design, video production or multimedia content creation skills will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or a related discipline.


As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline level or have the ability to gain one. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
