Your Role
Are you a dynamic and strategic thinker with a passion for forging meaningful connections and driving business growth? As our Director of Business Development, you will be at the forefront of expanding Saab’s footprint in the Netherlands and neighbouring countries. Working closely with the Country Manager, you will play a pivotal role in achieving our order intake targets and long-term business objectives. Your mission will be to identify new opportunities, foster strategic partnerships, and ensure our sustained success in the region.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Crafting and executing innovative business strategies to enhance Saab’s market presence in the Netherlands and neighbouring countries
Building and nurturing strong, lasting relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders
Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, ensuring meticulous reporting in our CRM system
Representing Saab at industry events, exhibitions, and business development activities
Collaborating with the Country Manager and global business units to achieve strategic goals
Driving country-specific business development initiatives and improving processes
Acting as a crucial link between Saab Nederland and other entities within our global organisation to ensure successful outcomes
Your Profile
We are seeking a visionary leader with a proven track record in navigating complex business environments and building enduring relationships. You thrive in an international setting and possess a deep understanding of the Dutch defence industry and procurement processes. Your strong business acumen and ability to develop and maintain excellent customer relations will be instrumental to your success in this role.
To excel in this position, you likely have:
Relevant academic and/or military education
Experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within an international environment
Exceptional negotiation, influence, and leadership skills to drive business initiatives forward
Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English
Solid understanding of the Dutch culture, public procurement processes, and the defence sector
Proactive and results-driven approach, with the ability to lead initiatives from strategy to execution
Willingness to travel

This position will be based in the Netherlands and you will be reporting to the Country Manager. This also requires that you will be approved in a security vetting in accordance to ISO:27001+.
