Our NATO & EU Office focuses on:
Analyzing and understanding the evolving landscape of security and defense policies, with a particular emphasis on how NATO and EU membership affects Sweden and Saab in the area of security and defence.
Assessing and communicating on public initiatives, such as new proposals and regulations, and developing Saab's position to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks.
Providing strategic guidance on political affairs to Saab's executive management and all parts of the organization.
Developing, leading, and implementing government affairs activities, including advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives that support Saab's strategic and business goals.
Supporting campaigns and initiatives related to market and export support engagement.
Building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, including political representatives, senior government officials, regulators, industry associations, and alliance partners, to promote and advocate for Saab's public policy positions.
Your role
In this high-impact role, you’ll be part of Saab’s NATO & EU Office based in Brussels, Belgium. You will work closely with colleagues across Saab’s Business Areas, ensuring collaboration and alignment to drive Saab’s NATO agenda and priorities forward. Your expertise will help shape the political landscape that affects Saab’s global business — with a special focus on NATO institutions and their evolving policies.
Sweden, as Saab’s home market, has a direct influence on our conditions for success — but our opportunities are increasingly shaped by developments in Brussels, the seat of both NATO and the EU. Your work will bridge these perspectives.
You will:
Build and maintain strategic relationships with NATO staff, defence industry partners, and key stakeholders in Brussels and beyond.
Identify and track policy initiatives that may affect Saab’s business, and proactively develop responses that position the company for long-term success.
Provide policy analysis and strategic advice to Saab’s senior leaders and relevant business areas.
Represent Saab in meetings, forums, and events, acting as a knowledgeable and credible voice on NATO-related issues.
Collaborate cross-functionally, turning complex policy developments into actionable business insights.
Contribute to a positive team culture, where curiosity, cooperation, and a commitment to inclusive growth are valued.

Your profile
We are looking for a confident and collaborative leader with deep knowledge of the security and defence policy landscape.
You bring:
A relevant academic degree in political science, international relations, law, or a similar field.
Good knowledge of Saab´s product offerings and business is highly valubale
At least 10 years of experience in government affairs, international relations, defence policy, or a related area.
Strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset — able to anticipate political developments and assess their business implications.
Proven ability to work in politically complex environments, preferably with direct experience from NATO and/or EU institutions.
Experience building trust-based relationships with a wide range of stakeholders — from government agencies and civil society to industry groups.
Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish (written and spoken); other languages are a plus.
A genuine interest in collaboration, knowledge sharing, and supporting colleagues’ growth.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
