Your Role
Advanced Programs is a business unit within Aeronautics focused on pushing the boundaries of what is possible. It includes Saab’s internal start-up, “the Rainforest,” as well as activities supporting Sweden’s future decisions within fighter aircraft. We also conduct business development with international partners with the aim of offering fighter aircraft solutions both nationally and internationally.
You will be responsible for creating robust cost models and delivery schedules for national and international projects. This hands-on role requires both detailed analytical skills and the ability to see the bigger picture. Your main tasks include:
- Developing cost estimates and project timelines for bids to FMV and international partners.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and quality of planning data.
- Supporting internal reviews and tracking ongoing programs.
- Providing clear and data-driven insights to senior management and stakeholders.
Your Profile
We are looking for a candidate with strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and experience managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment. Ideally, you have:
- A solid background in cost estimating, planning, or project controls, preferably within defence, aerospace, or other engineering-intensive industries.
- Proficiency in scheduling and estimating tools such as MS Project, Excel, and cost modelling software.
- Familiarity with Swedish defence procurement processes (e.g., FMV) or similar public sector/defence environments.
- Ability to explain complex cost and schedule analyses clearly and effectively.
- Fluency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.
Preferred qualifications:
- Degree in engineering, business, economics, or project management.
- Certifications in project management or estimating.
- Security clearance, or eligibility to obtain one, under Swedish national requirements.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
