The Job:
We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee all building-related activities at our new 3 building campus. You will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning.
The ideal candidate will be well-organised and able to optimise the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. Leadership abilities and high levels of efficiency will set you apart among our candidate pool.
The goal is to ensure our business’s accommodation is problem-free and safe so that employees can work under the best conditions in our engineering, manufacturing and assembly facilities.
General Responsibilities
Overseeing building and grounds maintenance;
Monitor, manage and coordinate all services (telecommunications, air conditioning, air handling, heat, electricity, cleaning, catering and vending services, waste disposal, security presence, etc.)
Work closely with the Health and Safety manager ensure compliance to all Health and Safety regulations;
Work with Team Leaders to make changes and refurbishments to the facilities as necessary;
Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards;
Plan and coordinate inspection regime of the buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations;
Review and monitor utilities consumption and strive to minimise costs;
Supervise all contractors and facilities staff (technicians, groundskeepers and external contractors etc.) when on site;
Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
Work with relevant department leads to ensure working space is allocated according to the business area needs;
Ensure compliance to business insurance policies;
Handle service contracts (lifts, fire protection, all production equipment, crane, forklift scissor lift etc.)
Ensure all aspects of buildings use is documented and kept up to date, including keeping financial and non-financial records;
Effectively communicate with staff in respect of any infrastructure changes;
Managing parking facilities and use of production and yard space;
Keep a contacts database on all the contacts you make, handymen, services etc.
Requirements and skills
Proven experience as a Facilities Manager or relevant position
Well-versed in technical / engineering operations and facilities management best practices
Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
Good analytical / critical thinking
BSc/BA in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field
3+ years in facilities management
Project management skills
Good organisational skills
Multitasking ability
Good time management

Security clearance will be required
