The role

As part of our Civil Security group, the Field Support Technician will play a key role in furthering the development of Saab’s OneView physical security information management system. You will be responsible for planning and performing routine and preventative maintenance activities for installations across NSW.

Perform and support planned and reactive maintenance of the Saab deployed systems.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Schedule subcontracted preventative and reactive maintenance tasks with the customer and any suppliers or subcontractors
  • Report system faults requiring corrective maintenance with the Facility Manager to generate corrective work orders
  • Supervise subcontractors for corrective maintenance
  • Maintain site drawings, schedules, as-built configuration, spares records and any other documentation as required and provide updates
  • Travel intrastate and interstate (mostly ACT)
  • Participate in an on-call roster

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Demonstrated experience in the security industry, preferably with IP based systems
  • Experience with security systems IT hardware and troubleshooting
  • Qualified to setup installation of Gallagher access control and intruder alarm systems
  • IP networking fundamentals experience, including addressing, sub-netting and routing knowledge
  • Able to obtain a Security Installers Licence
  • Drivers Licence
  • Strong customer/stakeholder engagement skills and outstanding service delivery skills
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills

Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a baseline defence clearance.
