Build your resume and enhance your marketability with real, hands-on experience! We at SAAB in West Lafayette, IN are currently seeking an intern to join our Finance Team for Summer 2026. Our facility manufactures the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk military trainer aircraft for the United States Air Force. This flagship facility utilizes advanced manufacturing techniques and leverages research and development to support Saab’s broad product portfolio.
Responsibilities include:
Completion of a designated internship project, as assigned by the department manager. The project will be designed to provide the student an opportunity to practice skills and apply knowledge (coursework) by leading and coordinating a financial analysis project with deliverable expectations and providing value-added impact to the operation
Partner with assigned mentor to solicit feedback and direction as needed, regarding the project assignment
Job duties will vary but are designed to meet the development needs of the student, as well as provide context for the completion of the assigned project task(s)
Support finance team in analyzing current business trends to support leadership’s operational decision-making process
Participate in day-to-day accounting operations and period closing activities, including balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations and expense variance analysis
Gain real world working knowledge of ERP systems
Work closely with Finance leadership to identify and execute on continuous improvement efforts
Assist in driving a people first culture in alignment to Saab leadership vision
Final formal presentation to leadership and team members about achievements and experience
Contribute to a positive and productive work environment, aligned with our Company values: Trust, Drive, Expertise and Support
Other tasks as assigned
Compensation Range: $20-$22/hr
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Finance, Accounting or Management at an accredited university
Completed Freshman year in academic curriculum as of hire date (Fall 2025)
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Self-driven, and expected to deliver high quality work and lead change
Excellent communication and team building experience
Familiarity with Excel and other financial tools
Previous internship experience is preferred, but not required
Citizenship Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
