Government Affairs – Coordinator, Staff Office

Are you an ambitious early‑career professional with a strong interest in international relations, public policy, and strategic coordination? Saab is seeking a Government Affairs Advisor to act as a central point of coordination within the Government Affairs Staff Office. In this role, you will help prepare Saab’s senior leadership for meetings, visits, and engagements, while ensuring alignment and structure across the department’s activities.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of Saab’s Government Affairs team, supporting the Head of Group Government Affairs and contributing to high‑impact strategic processes.

Your role

As Government Affairs Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring effective coordination, structure, and high‑quality output across the Government Affairs function. You will support by managing priorities, preparing and coordinating senior leadership material such as country briefs, with a clear operational link to executive‑level processes. You will also help the Government Affairs leadership in the governance of the function, such as annual planning process and follow up.

You will work closely with the CEO Office, ensuring alignment, maintaining high standards in deliverables, and meeting tight deadlines. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, takes initiative, and proactively identifies what needs to be done. To succeed, you must be solution‑oriented and able to collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development and delivery of briefings and memos for senior internal and external stakeholders, including executive-level audiences
  • Support the Group Government Affairs leadership team in planning, prioritisation, and follow-up of key activities
  • Support coordination of processes across the Group Government Affairs function, both Swedish Government Affairs and the Brussels Office, ensuring alignment, structure, and timely execution
  • Contribute to market and country analysis, providing insights to support strategic positioning and advocacy efforts
  • Support strategic initiatives
  • Act as a coordination hub in relevant processes between Stockholm, Brussels, and other parts of the organisation
  • Contribute to planning and follow-up of the Group Government Affairs operational plan and annual planning cycle
  • Build and maintain relevant internal and external networks

Your profile

We are looking for a high‑performing professional with strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to operate in complex, fast‑moving environments. You combine structure with drive and take clear ownership of your work, ensuring that priorities are translated into well‑prepared briefings, coordinated actions, and tangible results.

You are proactive and solution‑oriented, with sound judgement and strong attention to detail. You are comfortable working close to senior stakeholders and contributing to high‑impact processes, often under tight timelines. Your ability to anticipate needs, align multiple perspectives, and coordinate across functions makes you a trusted and effective contributor.

With strong interpersonal skills, you build credibility quickly and collaborate effectively across national and international contexts.

Essential requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Law, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably from Government Offices or a corporate environment
  • Proven ability to coordinate complex processes with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience preparing high‑quality briefings, presentations, or decision‑making material
  • A strong interest in politics, public policy, and international relations, ideally with exposure to security and defence issues
  • Fluency in Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Desirable qualifications

  • A master’s degree
  • Experience working in or towards governmental, international, or policy‑driven environments
  • Experience engaging with executive‑level stakeholders

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
