Want to influence the bigger picture? At Saab, you can realise amazing innovations that keep people and societies safe. Together, we can truly make an impact – and your part matters.
Your role
As a senior member of Saab’s Swedish Government Affairs team, your primary responsibility is to develop, lead and execute high‑impact advocacy strategies that strengthen Saab’s long‑term position in Sweden and internationally.
Rather than working within predefined policy areas, you will play a central role in identifying, shaping and advancing Saab’s interests across both established and emerging policy domains. This includes proactively scanning the external environment to detect political, regulatory and strategic developments where Saab needs to position itself, while also supporting and reinforcing ongoing work within existing priorities.
You are expected to act as a trusted specialist in public policy and advocacy, able to translate complex developments into clear strategies and practical actions. A key part of your role is to ensure Saab is effectively positioned with decision‑makers and stakeholders, drawing on a strong and well‑maintained network across government, agencies, industry and relevant ecosystems.
In addition to leading your own initiatives, you will serve as an internal advisor and capability builder, supporting colleagues across Government Affairs and the wider Saab organisation with strategic insights, policy analysis and advocacy approaches. You will help strengthen the team’s overall effectiveness, ensuring coherence and impact across different areas and markets.
The role requires a high degree of independence and initiative, combined with strong collaboration within the Government Affairs function and across Saab. You will work closely with senior leadership and business units to ensure that public policy priorities align with Saab’s long‑term strategic and commercial objectives, particularly in areas where the company is evolving or expanding.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing advocacy strategies to influence policy outcomes and strengthen Saab’s long‑term positioning.
- Identifying and shaping opportunities in emerging policy areas, while supporting ongoing work in established priorities.
- Building and maintaining a strong network of senior stakeholders, including political leaders, government officials, regulators, industry associations and thought leaders.
- Monitoring, analysing and interpreting public policy developments and translating them into actionable insights.
- Positioning Saab as a credible and forward‑leaning partner in relevant policy discussions.
- Providing strategic advice and policy insights to senior leadership and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting and strengthening the Government Affairs team by contributing expertise across multiple domains and helping drive consistency in advocacy approaches.
- Driving cross‑functional collaboration to align advocacy efforts with business needs and strategic direction.
