Are you driven to see your ideas become reality? Welcome to our exciting and technology-intensive world.
Your role
As Head of Autonomy, you will lead Saab’s strategic push into the next generation of autonomy, swarming, and coordinated multi-agent capabilities across our emerging C6ISR portfolio. You build, mentor, and grow a high-caliber team that turns cutting-edge concepts into deployable capabilities for multi-domain warfighters.
As the bridge between operational need, technology development, and market delivery, you shape the future of Saab’s autonomy offering, from platform-agnostic orchestration to autonomy frameworks and swarming.
You collaborate closely with product management, strategy, and business development to position autonomy as a core differentiator in Saab’s portfolio. You also represent Saab in high-level customer engagements, defence innovation initiatives, and international forums on autonomy and multi-domain operations.
The position is based in Solna.
Your profile
We are looking for a leader who moves comfortably between strategic intent and technical depth, and who knows that great autonomy is built by great teams. You translate operational concepts into system architectures without losing sight of the mission, and you have a natural ability to bring senior military decision-makers, engineers, and international partners into the same conversation.
We believe you have:
- Strong operational background, ideally with experience in unmanned systems employment or C2/ISR roles
- Deep understanding of autonomy, swarming, multi-agent systems, and their employment in contested military environments
- Proven leadership in complex, mission-critical development environments (defence, aerospace, autonomy, or robotics)
- Ability to translate operational concepts into system architectures and capability roadmaps
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale technical teams and mentor senior specialists
- A master’s or higher degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Defence Studies, or a related discipline
Beneficial Qualifications:
- Advanced military education or operational command experience
- Experience interfacing with senior military decision-makers and international stakeholders
The position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around security protection. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, where applicable, entail requirements regarding specific citizenship.
What you will be part of
Explore a wealth of possibilities. Take on challenges, create smart inventions, and grow beyond. This is a place for curious minds, brave pioneers, and everyone in between. Together, we achieve the extraordinary, each bringing our unique perspectives. Your part matters.
