Saab is seeking a seasoned, results-driven leader to take on the pivotal role of Head of Marketing and Sales for Business Unit Ground Combat. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of one of Saab’s most strategically important and globally recognised business units, operating at the heart of today’s rapidly evolving security environment.

Your Role

Looking forward, Saab is investing in future capabilities and new product families to further strengthen Ground Combat’s position as the preferred global supplier of soldier-launched weapon systems, while ensuring long-term sustainability, resilience and competitiveness.

As Head of Marketing and Sales, you will be the senior commercial leader for the business unit, accountable for global order intake, profitability and long-term market positioning. You will lead a highly skilled international team and play a central role in shaping Saab’s go-to-market strategies. Successfully introducing new technologies, offerings and business modelsKey

Responsibilitie

  • Full responsibility for order inntake, ensuring profitability and gross margin levels that support long-term financial targets.
  • Consolidate and drive the global order intake plan, including long-range forecasting and strategic pipeline development.
  • Negotiate and close large, complex international contracts with governments, armed forces, and strategic partners.
  • Drive the development of new business models, including support contracts, services, and capability-based offerings.
  • Collaborate closely with Strategy, Portfolio Management, Global Business Development, and Operational Countries to ensure alignment and execution excellence.

Representing Saab and Ground Combat at senior customer engagements, industry forums, and major events will be a significant part of your role. You will also organise and oversee major customer demonstrations and live-firing events showcasing Saab’s latest capabilities. International travel will be required, up to 60 days per year.

You will report to Head of Business Unit Ground Combat.

Success Criteria

  • Consistently delivering strong and profitable order intake aligned with Saab’s strategic objectives
  • Strengthening and expanding Ground Combat’s global market leadership
  • Establishing Saab as the preferred long-term partner for key customers and nations
  • Contributing actively to Saab’s broader growth and transformation agenda
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. Swedish proficiency is an advantage
  • Master of Science, Engineering degree, MBA or other relevant commercial education

Experience

  • 10+ years in senior commercial leadership roles (CSO, CxO or equivalent) in an international, technology-driven organisation
  • Proven track record of strategy development and execution
  • Experience from negotiating large, complex international contracts preferably within the defence industry or other process driven sales
  • Understanding of advanced technology products and Systems of Systems in a defence context

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

Primary location is Karlskoga, Linköping or Stockhom but other locations are also possible, including internationally.
