As Head of Modern Infrastructure within Group IT, you will lead group-wide infrastructure and cloud capabilities, ensuring that Saab’s technology foundation is transformed and modernised while remaining reliable, secure, and resilient in an increasingly digital and globally connected environment. You will play a key role in enabling Saab's digital transformation by supporting the adoption of AI, cloud-based technologies, automation, and modern digital platforms.
Your role
As Head of Modern Infrastructure within Saab Group IT, you will be responsible for the delivery and development of key infrastructure capabilities, including infrastructure and cloud strategy, cloud operations, platform engineering, connectivity, and FinOps.
You will drive Saab’s IT transformation agenda forward, ensuring adoption of AI, cloud-native technologies, automation, and modern digital platforms. This requires close alignment between business needs, technology modernization, and operational delivery across Business Areas and Group Functions.
The role includes line management of senior leaders and close collaboration across the organisation to ensure cohesion between strategic direction and operational execution.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and transform Saab’s Modern Infrastructure capabilities, enabling reliable, secure, and scalable technology services
- Drive transformation with focus on cloud, AI and modernisation
- Provide cloud-native and automated platforms that empower product teams to build, deploy, and operate services with speed and efficiency
- Ensure stability, availability, and resilience across both modern cloud platforms and legacy infrastructure environments
- Define and drive the roadmap for Modern Infrastructure, including cloud transformation, infrastructure automation, platform standardisation, and modern engineering practices
- Accelerate cloud adoption and migration while ensuring effective governance, security, and operational excellence
- Drive technology cost optimization through FinOps, automation, and efficient platform management
- Establish and enforce standard connectivity patterns and infrastructure standards across the enterprise
- Enable self-service platforms and improve developer productivity through modern platform capabilities
- Represent Group IT in cross-functional forums and engage with senior business and technology stakeholders
This is a highly visible position that involves frequent interaction with executive stakeholders, and you will report directly to the Saab Group CIO. You will play a central role in accelerating Saab’s cloud transformation, modernising its technology foundation, and enabling secure and scalable digital services across the enterprise.
Your profile
We are looking for a senior leader with extensive experience managing complex IT organisations in a global context, combined with deep expertise in infrastructure, cloud technologies, and platforms.
You have a strong track record of driving transformation and operational improvements, with focus on cloud, AI and modern IT infrastructure. Combined with a deep understanding of cloud strategy, infrastructure modernisation, platform operating models, and modern technology landscapes, including automation and AI.
You are a relationship-oriented leader who is comfortable representing IT at senior management level, lead through others and drive change in large organisations.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Academic degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years of IT management experience, including several years of leadership of leaders
- Extensive experience in infrastructure strategy, cloud operations, platform engineering, connectivity, FinOps, and technology operations
- Proven experience driving cloud transformation, migration initiatives, and large-scale technology modernization programs
- Strong understanding of cloud-native platforms, automation, self-service operating models, and infrastructure governance
- Experience from large global organisations; ideally including defence
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes
- Fluency in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken
