Your role
As Head of Platforms and Software, you will lead the delivery and operational performance of C5ISR platforms and software-centric capabilities. You hold end-to-end responsibility for contract execution, people, and long-term customer relationships across ongoing and future engagements. You ensure that core software components such as IEG, multi-sensor optimisation, data fusion, ID fusion, situation detection, and software-defined networking are integrated and continuously evolved into measurable operational advantage.
Together with product management, strategy, and business development, you position platforms and software as key value drivers in Saab’s C5ISR/C6ISR portfolio. You also build and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary organisation across software engineering, architecture, AI/ML, cloud, and integration, while acting as a senior Saab representative in customer engagements.
The position is based in Solna.
Your profile
You are a leader who naturally bridges technology, operations, and business, comfortable moving between architectural choices and contract conversations in the same day. You combine deep technical understanding with the leadership instinct to grow people and turn capability into customer value. Building trust, both with your team and with senior customers, is something you take seriously.
We believe you have:
- Strong background in software development, systems architecture, AI/ML, and/or cloud technologies
- Proven track record leading complex, software-intensive delivery programs with full responsibility for contracts, delivery, and financial outcomes
- Experience integrating and delivering scalable platforms and modular software components in operational settings
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to grow and develop high-performing technical teams
- Working knowledge of modern software practices such as DevSecOps, CI/CD, cloud-native design, and secure architectures
- A Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
Beneficial Qualifications:
- Understanding of C5ISR systems and the role of software-defined capabilities in modern defence environments
- Experience working closely with defence or government customers, translating needs into deployed solutions
The position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around security protection. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, where applicable, entail requirements regarding specific citizenship.
