Your role
You will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and launching Saab’s new unmanned Airborne Early Warning capability, the UAEW Pod. This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic leadership with operational execution in a high-profile, international programme developed in close collaboration with partners in the United States.
This role is suited for a senior leader who thrives on building new capabilities, scaling organisations and delivering results in a complex and fast-evolving defence environment.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the development and market introduction of Saab’s UAEW Pod, driving the programme from concept and development through industrialisation and successful market entry.
- Establish and lead the transatlantic partnership with General Atomics and Saab Inc., ensuring alignment, performance and long-term strategic success.
- Build and implement scalable ways of working, including governance, processes and operating models that enable sustainable growth and execution excellence.
- Drive production and procurement readiness across organisational boundaries, securing a robust supply chain, industrial capability and delivery performance.
- Build, lead and grow the organisation, initially managing a team of 10–20 employees and expanding the capability as the programme develops.
You will report to the Head of BU Airborne Early Warning and work closely with senior stakeholders across Saab. The role includes occasional international travel.
Your profile
You are a strategic and forward-looking leader with a strong technical foundation, ideally supported by an engineering degree. You have a proven track record of transforming ideas into reality, leading organisations through growth and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
You likely bring:
- Extensive experience leading product-focused development and business organisations, with accountability for strategy, performance and growth.
- A builder’s mindset, with a demonstrated ability to establish, scale and professionalise organisations, capabilities and operating models.
- Strong executive leadership and communication skills, enabling you to influence senior stakeholders, leadership teams and external partners.
- Fluency in Swedish and English, with the confidence to represent Saab in senior and international forums.
- Proven people leadership experience, including managing managers and leading teams through complex organisational challenges to deliver business results.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
