Your role
You will take on a key leadership role in driving the development and launch of Saab’s new unmanned AEW capability, UAEW Pod. The assignment combines strategic direction with hands-on leadership in a growing and internationally oriented program, including close collaboration with partners in the US.
This is a role for a senior leader who is motivated by building new capabilities, shaping organizations and delivering results in a complex defense environment.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the development and market introduction of Saab’s new unmanned AEW product, UAEW Pod, driving the program from concept through industrialisation and market entry.
- Establish and lead the transatlantic collaboration with General Atomics and Saab Inc. in the United States, ensuring alignment, performance and long-term strategic positioning.
- Develop and implement new ways of working, building scalable structures, governance and processes to support growth and execution excellence.
- Lead and coordinate Production and Procurement across organisational boundaries, securing industrial readiness, supply chain robustness and delivery capability.
- Build and scale the organisation, initially leading a team of approximately 10–20 employees, with responsibility to grow and strengthen the capability over time as the programme expands.
You will report to the Head of BU Airborne Early Warning and work in close collaboration with senior stakeholders across the business unit and the broader Saab organization. The role may involve occasional travel.
Your profile
You are a forward-thinking and structured leader with a strong technical background, ideally a degree in engineering, combined with a sharp strategic mindset. You thrive in complex environments and have a proven ability to lead initiatives from idea to implementation.
You likely bring:
- Proven experience leading and developing a product-oriented development and business organisation, with full accountability for performance, growth and strategic direction.
- An entrepreneurial “builder” mindset, with the ability to establish, scale and professionalise structures, capabilities and ways of working.
- Excellent communication and executive leadership skills, with the ability to engage boards, senior stakeholders and cross-functional leadership teams.
- Fluency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken, with the ability to confidently represent the organisation in senior forums and international contexts.
- Documented experience of leading managers and teams with full personnel responsibility, delivering results through others in complex environments.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
