Your role
We are looking for a Head of Sales at BU Surface Ships, to lead a growing team of dedicated professionals, acting as Product Sales Responsible.
As head of our sales department, you have the overall responsibility to promote and sell BU Surface ships’ products and services. The responsibility stretches from identifying/creating an opportunity all the way to a signed contract. Further, the Sales team is responsible for collecting information regarding the customer’s and stakeholder’s current and future needs and communicate it to internal stakeholders.
The core mission of BU Sales is to build, develop and maintain customer relationships, as to ensure the commercial success and long-term relationship with customer and stakeholders, in alignment with our strategy and our business capture plans.
You will be part of the BU Management Team, and expects to take the lead in business development to ensure a growing sales funnel.
As a manager, your task will also be to develop your team and to create an atmosphere where people can and wants to work and grow.
It is an exciting and demanding role that requires product knowledge, determination and endurance.
Travels, both domestic and globally, are required to meet customers, partners and stakeholders.
Your profile
We put great emphasis on personal characteristics for the position, as well as securing a high performing and co-operative Management Team for the BU.
You are an engaged and driven manager with a proven track-record in marketing & sales roles, as well as strategic roles. For this role, you need to have strong communication skills and have the ability to motivate others around you. You have a leadership style that encourages an open, trustful and innovative culture.
It is important that you are able to work together with external stakeholders, as well as other Saab Business Units. You have extensive experience of Saab’s way of doing and winning business.
As a person you drive change, have the ability to lead people and you apply a growth mindset in your daily life. Further, you possess a high level of cultural sensitivity, is a team player and is an excellent communicator with high integrity.
Required skills
- Strong sales leadership skills, with the ability to lead the sales process from prospecting to closing. Preferably experience from international sales
- Understanding of market trends and customer needs within the industry
- Industry experience from project management, business development, sales, engineering or production
- Excellent communication and cultural skills, with fluency in English and the ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Other desirable skills regarded as a merit
- Project Management or similar experiences of leadership in an international environment
- Other language skills than Swedish and English, and earlier experiences of working in various cultural and international contexts
- Good understanding of Business Unit Surface ships products and services, combined with the ability to work with technical experts
