The role

As part of our Security Operations group, the Information Security Officer will support the connection of security initiatives to compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements. The role works closely with the business to ensure that Saab’s security program supports business objectives and provides subject matter expertise and support across Saab’s cyber and information domains including incident response, investigations and forensics.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Provide specialist information security advice to the business and stakeholders;
  • Perform information security audits and risk assessments;
  • Provide risk mitigation advice and subject matter expertise to reduce Saab’s exposure to risk;
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of information security policies and procedures;
  • Ensure information security policies and procedures are maintained to manage risks in accordance with Saab’s compliance requirements;
  • Co-ordinate with IT, Security Operations and business stakeholders on technical security issues;
  • Co-ordinate with crisis management and security incident groups to ensure timely identification, investigation, remediation and reporting of security breaches and potential risks

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Previous demonstrable experience in a Security Risk or Analyst role;
  • Broad knowledge and experience across governance, risk and compliance and various information security domains;
  • Fundamental understanding and awareness of information security frameworks, such as ISM, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001 and how these are applied in operational environments
  • ISACA, AISA or ISC2 membership preferred.
  • Experience in performing technical investigations into computer based events, user behaviour or devices.
  • Experience in the collection, presentation and analysis of security related information;
  • Display high level of personal integrity and professionalism;
  • Attention to detail and the ability to see an activity through to completion


As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
