Integrated Logistics Support Engineer
This role will perform Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) analysis tasks to develop, in coordination with the system engineering effort and each other, trade-offs which may be required between elements in order to acquire a product / system that is affordable (lowest life-cycle cost), operable, supportable, sustainable, transportable, safe to operate, reliable and environmentally sound which meet and exceed the market / end user requirements.
Your role
- Influence the design in terms of reliability, maintainability, testability and safety.
- Perform a Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) in order to capture all maintenance data in order to support a product / system (maintenance tasks, resources, tooling, personnel, support & test equipment, etc.).
- Define the most suitable and cost-effective Maintenance Concept per program.
- Consolidate all maintenance data in a Maintenance Plan.
- Define the required Support and Test Equipment to effectively support and test the main equipment per product / program.
- Calculate and define the optimum recommended spare parts for a product / system as per a defined operational profile and relevant maintenance level.
- Define the required Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation requirements per program.
- Identify and define facility requirements for maintenance and training.
- Participate in failure analysis and relevant corrective actions.
- Perform reliability analysis for products and systems.
- Analyse products / systems by identifying all possible failure modes, the effects of the failures, the causes thereof and possible mitigation actions.
- Expand the Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to make provision for additional test data to subsequently convert the FMECA to a Failure Catalogue.
- Provide support to the System Engineering environment to perform a Testability Analysis.
- Support Safety Engineer during safety analysis regarding failures, effects / consequences of failures and the probability of failures occurring.
- Support Safety Engineer in the construction of the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
- Authoring of Service Letters, Technical and Service Bulletins per program.
- Authoring of Technical Publications per program on an ad hoc basis when the Technical Author is not available or overloaded.
- Provide the required support to Product Areas and other groups who interface directly with clients.
- Responsible for effective and efficient timesheet management (recovery of hours).
Your profile
Required knowledge:
- Knowledge regarding EW and Avionics products and their operational environments.
Practical Experience:
- Logistics & System Safety Engineering, Technical Authoring and training experience.
- Experienced with MIL-HDBK-217F Notice 2, MIL-STD-1629A, etc.
- Systems Engineering knowledge / experience will be an advantage.
- Management or leadership training will be an advantage.

Qualification:
- Technical qualification (Minimum requirement: National Technical Diploma – Electronics).
- Software tools training.
