We are looking for an Integrated Logistics Support Technician (ILS Tech) to join our Training Services team in Denmark.

Business Unit Training & Simulation develops and manufactures training systems, mainly for military users. Our offer is wide-ranging and includes the provision of world-leading laser simulators for live training, force on target applications, virtual simulation capabilities and training services. Training & Simulation operates globally with more than 1200 employees in twelve different countries and we are now expanding our footprint with new training facilities in Denmark.

Saab Training & Simulation has been contracted to provide laser-based training, simulation and support services to the Danish Armed Forces at 4 key training sites in Denmark.
Your role
In this role, you will be based at our training facility in Holstebro, whilst managing the equipment delivered across all 4 of our Danish sites. You will receive full training to become the subject matter expert for all matters related to the management, repair and maintenance of Saab’s laser-based simulation system and its wide array of applications and sub-systems. This system is vital in providing simulation and training support to the Danish Armed Forces and you will be a key player in the training set-up across all Danish sites.
You will report directly to the Support Manager who will be colocated at the main Danish CTC site in Holstebro, and who will have overall responsibility for the delivery of training services across the Danish Combat Training Centre. You will have a pivotal role in ensuring all equipment that forms a part of the Danish CTC maintains operational availability in accordance with the contract.
As ILS Tech for our Danish CTC operation, you will play a key role in ensuring that Saab’s interests, and those of the Danish Army customer are met to the highest possible standard. You will manage and coordinate the maintenance and repair of all of the Danish Army’s training and simulation equipment across all sites, ensuring they are maintained, distributed and configured to deliver the best possible training experience to the customer. You need to be open, loyal and honest, trust your co-workers and honour agreements, decisions and processes.
The role would suit a high-quality logistics or warehouse manager with a strong equipment management background, electrical and mechanical repair experience, an analytic approach and the capacity to find practical and pragmatic solutions under pressure.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Planning and Preparation of equipment prior to military exercises.
- System configuration.
- Issue and receipt of equipment.
- Corrective and Preventative Maintenance (B-level), including electrical and mechanical repairs, troubleshooting (workshop and field).
- Calibration of equipment.
- Stock checking.
- Sending and receiving shipments
- Maintain a close liaison with the TSL to ensure equipment configurations are up-to-date.
- Maintain a close (daily) cooperation with Saab T&S Factory Support to ensure that repairs are communicated, tracked and followed up in a timely manner and in line with the contracted Turn-Around-Times and operational availability requirements.
- Act as the Denmark CTC “Super User” for SiteMS, ensuring all equipment movement and activity is effectively tracked and the relevant data accessible.
- Provide input to external reporting requirements as required.
- Coordinate and track the movement of all equipment inter-site and internationally.
- Maintain a safe and efficient workshop.
- Troubleshooting, fault-finding, maintenance and repair of DFWES, communications and Excon simulation sub-systems and delivery of rapid solutions.
- Coordinate maintenance activities, including the delegation of tasks to other site staff across the Denmark CTC.
- Provide on-demand equipment maintenance training to the customer and other stakeholders.
- Support the Support Manager in keeping all equipment in good working order and ensure availability according to the contract, carrying out routine maintenance and repairs as necessary.
- Be prepared to deploy to support occasional Saab exercises or operations across Europe.
- Attend pre-exercise planning meetings and recces advising on all aspects of DFWES functionality.
- Assist with general CTC Site work as required by the Support Manager.
- Assist other Saab TS Sites with peak support as required.
- Support Saab marketing activity as required.
- Provide input for performance assessment of team members as required.
- Maintain, and foster an open and effective system of communication between all Denmark CTC staff.
Skills and experience
- Good understanding of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) and how to implement it to achieve operational excellence.
- A strong drive and focus on delivery
- Strong technical competence, especially in electrical and mechanical repairs, ESD, soldering and cable repair.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Full driving licence.
- Fluency in Danish and English.
- Experience of working in a military training environment is an advantage.
- Readiness to travel internationally without restrictions. National and international travel is part of the role.
Candidates must be able to obtain a security clearance by the Danish Defence Intelligence Service. This entails that candidates, as a minimum, have had residency within NATO/EU for the last 7 years.
