We are looking for an Integrated Logistics Support Technician (ILS Tech) to join our training team in Poland.

What you will be doing

The Training & Simulation business unit develops and manufactures training systems, primarily for military users. We offer a wide range of products and services, including world-leading laser simulators for live training, force-on-target applications, virtual simulations and training services. Training & Simulation operates globally, employing over 650 people in many countries, and we are currently expanding our operations with new training facilities in Poland.

Your role

In this position, you will work at our training centre in the Podkarpackie Province. You will receive comprehensive training to become an expert in all aspects of the management, repair and maintenance of the Saab laser simulation system and its wide range of applications and subsystems. This system is critical to providing simulation and training support, and you will play a key role in organising training at the training centre.

You will report directly to the Site Manager, who will work with you at the training centre and have overall responsibility for the delivery of training services across the training centre. You will play a key role in ensuring that all equipment is ready for use in accordance with the contract.

As an ILS Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring that the interests of Saab and our customers are met to the highest standards. You will manage and coordinate the maintenance and repair of all training and simulation equipment on site, ensuring its maintenance, distribution and configuration to provide customers with the best possible training conditions. You must be open, loyal and honest, trust your colleagues and honour agreements, decisions and processes.

This position will be suitable for a high-quality logistics or warehouse manager with extensive experience in equipment management, experience in electrical and mechanical repairs, an analytical approach and the ability to find practical and pragmatic solutions under pressure. A drone licence and skills will be an advantage in this position.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and preparing equipment before trainings.

  • Configuring the system.

  • Issuing and collecting equipment.

  • Carrying out repairs and preventive maintenance of training equipment, including electrical and mechanical repairs, troubleshooting (in the workshop and in the field).

  • Calibrating equipment.

  • Checking inventory levels.

  • Sending and receiving shipments.

  • Working closely with technicians at the factory in Sweden to ensure that equipment configurations are up to date.

  • Close (daily) cooperation with Saab T&S factory support to ensure timely transfer, tracking and implementation of repair information in accordance with contractual deadlines and operational availability requirements.

  • Act as a "super-user" at the training centre for the use of the warehouse inventory management system, ensuring effective tracking of all equipment movements and activities and the availability of relevant data.

  • Providing information for external reports as required.

  • Coordinate and track the movement of shipments and equipment.

  • Maintaining a safe and efficient workshop.

  • Troubleshooting, fault detection, maintenance and repair of simulation and communication subsystems, and ensuring rapid solutions.

  • Coordinating maintenance activities, including delegating tasks to other Saab employees at the training centre..

  • Conducting training on equipment maintenance at the request of customers and other interested parties.

  • Supporting the Site Manager in keeping all equipment in good working order and ensuring its availability in accordance with the contract by performing routine maintenance and repairs as necessary.

  • Be prepared to participate in overseas business travels.

  • Participate in pre-exercise and reconnaissance planning meetings, advising on all aspects of the training simulation system's functionality.

  • Assist with general centre operations as required by the Site Manager.

  • Support other Saab TS facilities during peak support demand periods as required.

  • Support Saab's marketing activities as required.

  • Maintain and develop an open communication system between all employees.

Skills and experience

  • Analytical IT and technical skills enabling the identification of faults in communication and IT systems and their effective removal.

  • Strong technical interest and ability to analyse problems and quickly find solutions that ensure the continuity of our simulation systems.

  • Strong motivation and action-oriented attitude with a focus on task completion.

  • Fluent spoken and written English.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Category B driving licence (B+E preferred)

  • Be prepared to participate in overseas business travels.

  • Experience in repairing, maintaining and managing communication equipment is desirable.

  • A licence and skills in operating drones will be an additional advantage in this job.

This position requires the candidate to undergo a company security check in accordance with the company's security regulations.
