Your role

We are looking for a Junior Business Development Manager to join our Marketing & Sales team responsible for sales of Saab Airborne Early Warning & Control system GlobalEye. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of our organization's journey and transformation as we grow our global footprint and develop our ways of working.

You will work on complex sales in the highly competitive international defense market, providing the opportunity to work with our world-leading portfolio and key areas for the company’s future. This means being able to manage complex, large-scale offerings across our product portfolio for new and existing customers.

You will join a team working in close cooperation with all relevant business units within Saab to sell and secure complex contracts on a large scale. You will have close interaction with the different programs and product owners, business development and strategy team, finance and commercial as well as Saab's top management to define and execute a successful win-strategy to develop and secure business.

Travelling is required, mainly outside Sweden. These trips can be related both to specific customer interactions as well as general marketing events such as exhibitions and trade shows.

Your profile

We are looking for a Junior Business Development Manager with a curious mindset about how to do business and a keen interest in developing their sales and leadership skills in an international context. The candidate should have some experience participating in complex projects, such as acquisitions, expansions, or the establishment of international sites. Experience in technically intensive sectors, such as engineering or project-driven operations, is preferred. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate strong numerical data handling and presentation skills, coupled with a solid understanding of business models.

As a person, you have an outstanding ability to develop relationships and networks, but also to keep focus on pushing sales efforts forward until closing a contract. You also have a passion for innovation in both technology and business models. Analytical skills are very important not only to understand the customer requirements and system solutions, but also to manage all the financial aspects of our proposals. Excellent presenting and communication skills are mandatory, as well as leadership skills to engage and lead bid teams successfully.

Since you will mainly engage with international customers, strong English skills in a business environment, both orally and in writing, are mandatory. It is also preferable to have Swedish skills. The successful candidate will be based at the Saab Solna Strand site.

We also assume you have:

  • A technical or business degree from a university
  • 2-5 years of work experience in business development and/or management consulting in an industry and international environment
  • The ability to combine strategic thinking with operational actions
  • Interest in moving ideas to revenue, analyzing business models, markets, partners, and competition
  • Interest in leading, developing, and challenging the organization, management teams, and employees
  • Cooperative skills, drive, and the ability to generate energy and motivate team members
  • Persistence and dedication to handle long-term marketing and sales initiatives

Desired experience includes:

  • Management consulting
  • Complex industry set-ups

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
