Saab Group Legal Affairs is looking for a Legal Counsel for Business Area Surveillance.

Products include the Airborne Early Warning & Control platform GlobalEye and the surface radar family Giraffe, Sea Giraffe and Arthur for air and maritime surveillance and weapon locating. We also offer leading technology for Counter-UAS, air traffic management and space.  

Business Area Surveillance is the most international business area at Saab with operational presence in the US, UK, Australia, South Africa, the UAE, the Netherlands, Finland, Norway, and Germany. Your role

 

As Legal Counsel for Business Area Surveillance, you will work in an exciting, complex and global environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities. You will manage legal questions and provide advice as well as strategic support to business stakeholders and management across the Business Area, including:

 

·       Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts;

·       Participating in large projects and campaigns, including bid preparation;

·       Advising on commercial law, disputes, company law, intellectual property matters, competition law and compliance; and

·       Supporting compliance-related investigations and projects.

 

As Surveillance continues to evolve its business, technology and ways of working, the role will involve legal and contractual support relating to software-enabled products, software licensing and integrated solutions combining hardware, software and services. We are looking for a candidate with a genuine interest in these developments and the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal support as the business continues to transform and grow.

 

This position is based in Gothenburg or Stockholm and requires travelling from time to time in Sweden and internationally.

 

Your profile

 

We are looking for a person who is willing to operate in an international and challenging environment. You will be a vital part of the Surveillance Legal Team, where we support each other and work together in an open work environment. We are here to help the business and to do that, we support each other. You are also expected to work independently and to take responsibility for Surveillance’s legal affairs.

 

You combine your experience, knowledge and skills with good judgment, analytical capacity, high integrity and excellent service. As a person you are driven, enjoy working and cooperating with other people and have an outstanding ability to turn individual efforts into productivity and added business value.

 

Required skills:

  • A Swedish law degree
  • At least 5 years' experience as an in-house legal counsel and/or at a leading commercial law firm
  • Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Experience providing legal advice in an international business environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English

Desired skills:

  • Broad experience across commercial law and other legal areas relevant to an international technology business
  • Experience negotiating and drafting complex international agreements
  • Experience with software licensing and legal or commercial matters relating to complex technology offerings, including integrated solutions, connected systems and system-of-systems environments
  • International experience
  • Interest in and/or experience in cyber law and national security/protective security act
