The Role:

This is a contract role, part of our Training and Simulation division.

The Logistics and Training Adviser provides administrative and logistical support to field exercises and equipment training to users.

In Addition:

  • Support the administrative and logistical plans to ensure that the Saab field team (FT) is able to operate throughout an exercise.

  • Perform equipment troubleshooting and resupply throughout an exercise.

  • Advise exercising troops on the capabilities of the Saab equipment and coordinate with them before and during deployment to ensure that they utilise its full potential and receive the maximum training benefit.

Key Responsibilities:

Core:

  • Support DFWES exercises in the UK and overseas as part of a two-man team (working to the Analyst). Be responsible for all aspects of training support including:

    • Issue and Train & Receipt.

    • Equipment troubleshooting and battery resupply.

    • AAR set-up.

    • Administration of the Saab Field Team (FT).

    • Liaison with exercise conducting staff.

  • Support DFWES exercises in the UK and overseas as part of a larger team under a Lead LTA and support all aspects of training support as detailed above.

  • Provide logistical planning and support to the deployed FT as required or directed by the Lead LTA.

  • Provide a logistical planning support to the user as required.

  • Attend exercise recces as required.

  • Deliver a capability brief prior to deployment, as required.

  • Liaise and coordinate with the exercise Lead LTA as required.

  • Liaise and coordinate with the UK DTES Sys Tech as required.

  • Liaise and coordinate with the Saab Support Managers as required.

  • Conduct ‘TES Fitness’ (familiarity and functionality lessons) as required with exercising troops.

  • Produce daily reports back to Support Managers, as required.

  • Capture logistics PXR points throughout the exercise and pass to the Analyst (or Lead / Senior Analyst) to consolidate.

Auxiliary Roles:

  • Assist with the erection and maintenance of the PBS communication system if required.

  • Fit vehicle kits and crew-served weapons.

  • Assist any other Saab teams on the exercise as required.

  • Provide peak support to Sites as required.

  • Assist with any continuation training, as required.

  • Assist with the training and mentoring of new LTAs on the Field Team.

  • Ensure that their team adheres to the H&S and Security.

Other:

  • Fulfil a Lead LTA role if required.

  • Step into an Analyst role on a temporary basis if required (and if trained).

  • Attend training in the UK or overseas, as required (for example: CONDO / Driver Training).

  • Support Saab marketing activity, as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Recent military operational experience.

  • Understanding of BG Combined Arms G4 doctrine and DCC tactics to Training Level ECHO.

  • Valid UK Driving Licence B+E.

  • Valid UK Passport (in date).

  • Must be able to pass CONDO medical.
