Manager Saab Transport Office

As Saab business is growing and in order to meet demands in a fast-changing world we are establishing a central transport function with the responsibility for planning and organizing national and international transports to and from Saab.


Your role

We are seeking an experienced person, who will play a central role in setting up this new function. The Transport Office will be part of the Saab Group Operational Excellence function and you can join our team in Linköping, Stockholm or Gothenburg.

Saab is looking for a person with experience from international shipping and with good knowledge of big and complex organizations to lead, establish and develop Saab Transport Office.

Your profile

  • Strong leadership as well with analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • People leader skilled in managing change

  • Ability to efficiently prioritize and manage complex tasks in a dynamic environment

  • Flexible and with ability to find new solutions

  • Experience in leading supporting business and responsive to the business needs

  • Knowledge and experiences from defense industry and collaboration with authorities are highly valued for this position.

Required skills:

  • Experience in planning and organizing both national and international shipping, at sea, on land and in the air. Rail transport knowledge valued

  • Good knowledge in handling of dangerous goods for all ways of transport

  • Knowledge in planning multimodal transports

  • Experience in planning and carrying out transports in threatening environments and able to use different transport tactical methods to meet security threats

  • Business minded and good communicating skills.

  • Good knowledge in transport laws, regulations (customs handling and international transportation), agreements, transports solutions and cost calculation

  • Knowledge in transport administration and booking systems

  • Fluent in English and Swedish, both verbally and in writing

Skills highly valued:

  • Experience as a manager of a transport organization and with experience from collaboration with authorities and international organizations

  • Military transport training

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

The transport office will work cross Saab as a centralized function in close cooperation and coordination with business units, procurement, operations, security, legal, compliance, finance and other necessary functions.
