Background

We are looking into the possibility to create complement our radars with tools to sharpens it capabilities. This master thesis aims to look into look into a solution to a communication link between the radar and this equipment.

Description of the master thesis

The goal of this thesis is to develop an encoding scheme for an asymmetric data link. A low bit rate link which uses pulsed transmission sequences can be utilized for data transmission. The link has different operational modes in RX and TX each with different properties. It is desired to develop encoding schemes that that is suitable for each type of modulation with regards to reliability, robustness against interference and limited use of computational power in one of the directions. It is also desirable to find a suitable method for applying forward error correction and encryption to this data link.
