Job Description:
Saab's Radar Surveillance division in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a Mechanical Engineer. The engineer will be a member of the Mechanical Engineering team responsible for the development of mechanical systems and assemblies across various ground based and shipboard military radar platforms.
Responsibilities will include:
Application of mechanical engineering principles for the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies.
Develop CAD 2D and 3D models of electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies.
Documentation of design solutions including reports, engineering drawings and Bill of Materials.
Provide effective communication across functional teams.
Work as key member of a cross-functional team to develop mechanical and electro-mechanical solutions.
Compensation Range: $75,800-$94,800

Skills and Experience:
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
5+ years of experience in mechanical design.
Understanding of mechanical design philosophy and design process flow.
Ability to resolve issues during design, development and execution of mechanical engineering activities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office software applications.
Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.
Ability to work with limited/general direction and must be able to communicate effectively.
Must hold or be able to obtain U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated knowledge of SolidWorks.
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Demonstrated performance and proficiency in the elements of Mechanical design, e.g. analysis and implementation of requirements, developing design concepts, evaluating designs, technical analysis, generating designs, design reviews.
