We’re now hiring a Workday Payroll Integration Specialist to join our HR Tech team within the IT department at Saab. In this hands-on role, you’ll design, build and maintain outbound integrations from Workday to our external payroll vendors across multiple countries, systems, and formats, contributing to Saab’s mission of keeping people and society safe.
Your role
As part of our HR Tech team, you’ll be focused on building outbound payroll integrations from Workday to our payroll vendors. You’ll work closely with HRIS, Payroll, and external vendors to deliver robust, scalable, and audit-ready data pipelines.
- Technical lead for the integration track in payroll development projects
- Design, build, and troubleshoot integrations using Core Connector: Payroll, Workday Global Payroll Connect, EIBs, and Workday Studio
- Collaborate with payroll vendors to define specs, exchange test files, and solve issues
- Convert Workday data into vendor-specific formats
- Document mapping logic, transformations, and integration flows
- Manage end-to-end testing, including parallel runs and cutover validation
- Ensure smooth transition into operations with clear documentation and handovers
- Propose improvements to enhance reliability, transparency, and performance
Your profile
- +3 years of Workday experience, with +2 years payroll integration projects delivered
- Strong knowledge of Core Connector: Payroll, Workday Global Payroll connect, and custom file transformations
- Experience working directly with external vendors (e.g., Strada, ADP, SD Worx)
- Familiarity with payroll concepts (gross/net pay, deductions, calendars)
- Ability to translate business requirements into clean technical solutions
- Workday certification (Integration or Payroll)
- Experience with secure protocols (PGP, SFTP)
- Previous work on global payroll integrations
This role requires you to pass a security vetting process in accordance with applicable laws and regulations on protective security. For certain roles, additional citizenship requirements may apply.
