The Role:
This role will be part of our Saab Seaeye Business Unit In Fareham.
In this role, you will gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of our product range and have the opportunity both functional and destructive testing on a wide range of ROV assemblies. Additionally, you will gain an understanding of real world performance requirements that will allow you to progress your knowledge and abilities to be able to undertake fault finding and route cause analysis exercises to help support continuous improvements of the pressure and soak testing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible and accountable for pressure and soak testing of all products covering production, repairs and engineering.
Have the ability to read and interpret written and visual instructions.
To ensure all certification and admin tasks related to the role are kept up to date and current.
Maintain high levels of safe working practices and ensure all areas within your responsibility are kept safe, clean and ready to use.
To assist with post-test bench testing and function testing activities.
To maintain personal ability in, and appropriate use of, all relevant IT (Information & Technology) and other systems required to adequately perform the role
Previous experience working with pressure vessels and fit, form, function testing processes would be advantageous.
Be familiar with 6S principles and lean working initiatives.
To maintain a professional and supportive relationship with team members and other departments in order to deliver business and delivery objectives or deadlines.
To act ethically, with integrity and in the best interest of the business at all times.
To keep good time management to minimise any wasted time and maximise productivity and effectiveness.
To use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in day-to-day activities and procedures within the specified role.
To carry out any other duties as detailed by your Supervisor or Manager from time to time.
To check the quality (QC) of other repair technicians work to ensure that they are repaired to a sufficiently high standard.
To assist with training of customers and staff to ensure a high standard of quality with regard to repaired items.
Work within the ISO quality and conform to company health and safety and quality standards.
Use and update, as necessary, company software / programs as required ensuring that common areas of information are kept up to date.
Skills and Experience:
Any previous mechanical experience would be advantageous
Level 2 or Level 3 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering advantageous, but not 100% necessary.
