The opportunities

As a Project Controller / Scheduler, you will provide expert advice and support to Task Managers, Control Account Managers (CAMs), and Project Managers in the areas of:

  • Project planning and scheduling
  • Project monitoring and control
  • Cost and schedule baseline maintenance
  • Reporting on project cost and schedule status

Key responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain the Contract Work Breakdown Structure (CWBS), index, and dictionaries
  • Develop and analyse cost performance reports
  • Maintain a Project Master Schedule in collaboration with CAMs and Project Managers
  • Support budget development and earned value management (AS4817)
  • Integrate planning, budgeting, analysis, and reporting processes
  • Coordinate contract change proposals and amendments
  • Produce corrective action reports and support CAM analysis
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies
  • Perform additional duties as required

About you

You will bring a solid background in project control and planning, ideally within defence or other high-complexity environments.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in project planning and control
  • Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management (AS4817 and Defence Supplement)
  • Understanding of project management principles (e.g. PMBOK)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (including 2016 data model) and Power BI experience
  • Experience with project management tools such as Open Plan Professional or Microsoft Project
  • Familiarity with cost management software such as COBRA
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education & Clearance:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, or business (desirable)
  • Australian Defence Security Clearance – Negative Vetting Level 1 (must have or be eligible)

Applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
