Project Manager - ATM

The role

As part of our Civil group, the Project Manager – Air Traffic Management will manage the overall delivery of Air Traffic Management (ATM) projects as required. This includes responsibility for project costs, schedule, quality and customer management for the project.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Setup, management and reporting of projects, including project estimating, planning and scheduling.
  • Identify and progress variations, delay notices, requests for information, prolongation claims and other such site works issue management.
  • Manage the project finances including financial forecasting, preparation of quotations, estimates to complete and managing overall project budget.
  • Manage the procurement of equipment and materials required to complete tasks.
  • Leadership of a project team, including definition of roles and responsibilities, delegation and follow up;
  • Contribute to project management process definition and improvement activities.
  • Support of ATM related tenders or opportunities with time permitting if there are any periods of reduced effort associated with project delivery work.
  • Co-ordinate with the commercial department within Saab on commercial issues with the customer and suppliers/sub-contractors as required.

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and a 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role.

About you

Your education, skills and experience will include:

Essential:

  • Competent project engineering and management/team leadership experience/qualifications.
  • At least 5 years of Project Management experience in the Air Traffic Management domain, or managing delivery of complex software solutions in a highly regulated operational safety environment.
  • Experience with the management of system integration and installation projects.
  • Good comprehension of commercial issues and contract execution requirements
  • Experience in working with sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Self-motivated, team focused with effective communication at all levels.
  • Experience in interfacing and managing customers.
  • Ability to effectively interact with internal Project Managers and Engineering teams, and externally with Customers and Sub-Contractors.
  • Experience with the PMBok Project management standards or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Experience in the Air Traffic Management sector or aviation sector.
  • Experience in site installation and commissioning works.

As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance preferably to Baseline level or have the ability to gain one.
