Your role
We are seeking a Senior Project and Contract Manager to join our expanding Product Unit Fighter Radar. In the Program & Bid office, we manage all the contracts and projects within the areas of fighter radar and missile electronics. We cover all product phases from development to production and aftermarket services, as well as research and study projects. We are also a key contributor to our offerings and negotiations of new contracts, being responsible for project planning, costing and scope management in order to take advantage of future business opportunities.
In this role you will lead critical projects and manage contracts within the areas of fighter radar and missile electronics. You will work with internal and external clients to define project scope, identify risks, manage budgets, and ensure timely, on-budget completion. You are the central figure connecting project goals with the collective efforts of the team and help navigate obstacles to guide projects to their goals. Therefor, this role requires strong technical, leadership, and communication skills.
You will work with a highly skilled group of people in areas such as fighter radar system development, missile electronics, production, advanced system studies and conceptual work for future technologies. The common denominator for all these areas is high performance world-class technology with very demanding requirements on size, weight and power working in extremely harsh environmental conditions. Our clients span from Saab internal, inside and outside of Sweden, to companies and international governments , and some of our projects are executed in cooperation with other defense companies, mainly but not only within Europe.
Main Responsibilities:
- Define and document project scope, objectives and success criteria.
- Manage contract discussions and negotiations with internal and external clients/stakeholders.
- Coordinating all elements of a project, from planning and team coordination to risk management and client communication, aiming for timely, on-budget completion.
- Collaborate with various Saab Business Units and Business Areas to set up necessary activities.
- Define and maintain competencies, lab environments, rigs, and simulators to ensure future development capabilities.
- Estimate costs, manage project budgets and resources, track spending and adjust as necessary to keep the project within financial boundaries while achieving fiscal efficiency.
Your profile
- 5+years of experience in technical project management or technical leadership positions.
- A technical or financial bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with risk management and quality assurance.
- Previous experience working with Swedish authorities is a plus.
We believe you have a strong interest in technology and the energy to motivate and engage teams. You are familiar with budgeting, vendor management, and contract negotiation. You also have proficiency in using Jira and Confluence for planning and documenting daily activities to track progress and stay organized. To thrive in this role, we see that you have excellent communication-, adaptability-, and leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
