The role
As a Project Manager for Combat Systems Integration (CSI) projects, you will be responsible for the delivery of quality projects outcomes by leveraging your well evolved stakeholder management skills, communicating project resource requirements, achieving agreed project milestones and meeting customer project requirements.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Define, manage and own the scope of work, including schedule, cost and quality outcomes for the project
- Develop the project approach to achieve project and business outcomes as per the Project Directive
- Identify opportunities in order to maximise outcomes and quality project delivery
- Provide leadership, direction and delegation to the Project Management Team
- Prepare, monitor and revise project plans, estimates, cost accounts and schedules for the project to meet the objectives set by the Project Directive
- Lead and present status at Steering Committee Meetings, Gate Reviews, Customer Reviews and Progress Meetings
- Manage Contract Variations and scope change along with assessing and managing project risks.
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9-day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.
About you
Your skills and experience as a project manager will include:
- Working in the defence industry (desirable)
- A strong understanding of best practice in project management
- Proven experience in the project life cycle, project documentation, project standards and methodologies
- An understanding of the lifecycle of system development projects
- Awareness of earned value management principles (desirable)
- Meeting the requirements of Australian Institute of Project Management CPPM accreditation or similar (desirable).
As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold a NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance or have the ability to gain one. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
