The opportunity
Saab Australia is an industry participant in the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement (CSI-IPT CCA). The CSI-IPT CCA forms a collaborative enterprise organisation to execute scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA4000 Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA5000 Phase 1). This will see independently executed programs such as SEA4000 Phase 6 and SEA5000 Phase 1 brought under one umbrella enterprise organisation, the CSI-IPT.
The CSI-IPT will be built up with personnel from three industry participants and the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) to form a collaborative team working across multiple programs to leverage synergies between platforms.
The role
The Project Scheduler will be accountable for the effective development, update, and maintenance of the CSI-IPT Test and Production Team’s Integrated Supplementary Production and Maintenance Schedules and associated performance baseline. They will also contribute to the development and maintenance of process and policy level documentation relative to the Integrated Supplementary Schedule Environment.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Develop and maintain the team’s Integrated Supplementary Schedule for Production, Test, and Maintenance related activities
- Develop and maintain Performance Measurement Baseline
- Lead the analysis and reporting of Schedule Critical Path, Critical Activities, and Milestones
- Manage Schedule Health using CSI-IPT’s schedule guidance (DCMA)
- Develop and maintain resource demand and utilisation data in support of capacity planning
- Prepare and present data and reports for delivery performance, schedule adherence, resource capacity and resource utilisation
- Improve Overall Schedule Health of Test and Production Team’s Integrated Supplementary Production and Maintenance Schedules
- Provide scheduling support and advice to the Test and Production Team
- Assist with the integration and deconfliction of the schedules
- Provide SME advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders with respect to scheduling activities.

About you
Your skills and experience will include:
- A degree in project management, business, commercial or engineering (desirable)
- Project management experience within a project orientated organisation (desirable)
- Detailed understanding of project management methodologies and principles of project planning, scheduling and project controls
- Earned Value Management practices or techniques (desirable)
- A defence acquisition environment (desirable)
- A maintenance, production, or test environment (desirable)
- Scheduling experience (essential)
- A team-first mentality (essential)
- Ability to interact effectively with colleagues across a range of teams and disciplines
- Well-developed self-management skills including the initiative to deliver outputs on time and to quality
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Strong literacy and numeracy
- Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Project management software such as Open Plan Professional (OPP), Microsoft Project, and Cobra.
As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
